The kids definitely loved this day-trip! Dad had to work so we drove to Rapperswil to see the zoo. Highlights of course were being able to feed some of the animals, the sealion show, and the pony ride. Leo loved being able to pet the goats – although Stella had a dramatic moment when we entered the goat enclosure. She was still holding a bag of popcorn (goat enclosure is strictly no popcorn because they are crazy!) and was lunged at by a mini-goat who pushed her against the fence, grabbed the popcorn and at the entire bag of popcorn (including the bag itself) in 5 seconds. There were tears. But she went in anyway. Brave girl.

Stella practiced her diving from the side of the pool – and later even from the 1m diving board (forgot the camera for the board though). Watching all the other kids swim under water motivated her to learn how to swim like a dolphin.
Little Leo enjoyed the little pool with lots of ramps and fountains.

At the end of the day, we went with Moni up to the stables to put the horses to bed.

The weather was looking moody so Moni and Tony set up the tables in the garage instead of in the garden to keep on the safe (and dry!) side of things. Was a lovely evening seeing everyone – and Leo decided he would show off his walking.
Nonno shows off his talents on the stilts – hasn’t tried it for over 20 years and got right on!

Just arrive in Switzerland and the weather is lovely so we headed to the local village pool (the Badi), spent time at the playground right next to where we are staying, then up at the farm near Moni’s house where Leo rode around on some of the little cars.

We had a big of a ribs festival this summer since it was so nice to be able to eat outside (and necessary since it’s so messy). Stella made the marinade this time and it was just as scrumptious as always. Leo’s decided he’s a great fan as well.
